Slaughter to Prevail singer Alex Terrible recently shared his candid thoughts about humanity after achieving celebrity status. He responded to fans’ questions on Instagram.

The statement came in response to a fan’s question about what surprised him most when entering celebrity status. Alex Terrible’s response revealed his harsh perspective on human intelligence.

“People are f*cking dumb. I thought I’m dumb, you know? And I think I’m dumb,” he said. “But the more popular you are, the more messages you start to receive. And sometimes I read these messages and I was like, f*ck me.”

The singer continued with an even more pointed observation about humanity as a whole.

“We really deserve what is going on in this planet right now because we’re so stupid,” he continued. “People are so f*cking stupid.”

The comments were made during an Instagram Q&A session where the metal vocalist addressed various questions from his fanbase.

Alex Terrible’s blunt assessment of his audience reflects the journey of a band that has navigated significant challenges since its formation. His frustrations with fan interactions echo the broader struggles Slaughter to Prevail has faced throughout their career.

The Metal Verse reported that Slaughter to Prevail started back in 2014 in Yekaterinburg, Russia, when Aleksandr Shikolai (known by the stage name Alex Terrible) was growing popular for his vocal covers on YouTube. The band was formed through a collaboration between the Russian vocalist and British guitarist Jack Simmons. This created an international partnership that would define their sound.

The band’s early years were marked by significant obstacles that may have contributed to Terrible’s current cynicism. WKNC 88.1 FM noted that metal shows in Russia were often canceled for religious reasons. This directly inspired their debut album *Misery Sermon*. These cancellations represented the kind of institutional barriers that frustrated the band’s early attempts to connect with audiences.

Despite these challenges, Slaughter to Prevail achieved breakthrough success with their 2017 debut album *Misery Sermon* on Sumerian Records. Wikipedia documented that the band has had numerous line-up changes over the years. Alex Terrible and Jack Simmons remained as the core members who have steered the group through various transitions.

The band’s evolution has also included significant geographical changes, as they eventually relocated from Russia to Orlando, Florida. This move represented not just a change of scenery but also a strategic decision to access broader markets and avoid the restrictions they faced in their home country. Their international status has allowed them to build the fanbase that now generates the messages that so frustrate their frontman.
