Alicia Taylor, wife of Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor, has responded to controversial claims about the band’s percussionist Shawn ‘Clown’ Crahan. She addressed allegations made on social media as reported on X (formerly Twitter).

A fan reached out to Alicia Taylor regarding comments made by someone claiming to be related to band member Sid Wilson. The fan expressed concern about disrespectful remarks being made about Clown’s recent absence from shows.

“This dude claims to be Sid’s cousin,” the fan wrote to Alicia Taylor. “He’s talking shit about Clown and making fun of his family emergency on a post where Corey is talking about the situation. If he is Sids cousin, someone should tell him to cut it out. It’s not cool.”

Daniel J. Wilson, the individual in question, had made claims about the band’s internal dynamics and Clown’s situation.

“Clown has no family emergency,” Wilson alleged. “He’s mentally disturbed. And they’re trying to find a way to part ways with him but he runs the circus.”

Alicia Taylor dismissed these claims in her response to the concerned fan.

“Just another person outside the circle that thinks they know everything,” she said. “A dime a dozen. Typical FB/Reddit/IG comment.”

This exchange follows Corey Taylor’s previous explanation that Clown’s absence from recent Slipknot performances was due to a family emergency.

The controversy surrounding Crahan’s absence highlights the ongoing challenges faced by the veteran metal band. They continue to navigate personal and professional commitments.

Louder Sound reported that Shawn ‘Clown’ Crahan has been intermittently absent from recent Slipknot performances, including the Rock Am Ring 2025 festival, to be with his wife amid a family health emergency. Crahan himself has publicly addressed the situation on social media. He thanked fans for their understanding and support during this difficult time.

The percussionist’s recent struggles extend beyond family matters. The Mosh revealed that in a 2024 interview, Crahan reflected on the physical toll of years of performing. He acknowledged that his body is now more limited. He discussed how surgeries, sobriety, and therapy have shaped his recent years and influenced Slipknot’s current performances.

“My brain still wants to go 24-hours-a-day, and I’d still love to be out there doing flips into the crowd, but my body hurts, so I’m limited nowadays,” Crahan said in the interview.

Blabbermouth confirmed there is no official statement or evidence from the band suggesting any effort to remove Crahan from Slipknot. This contradicts the social media speculation about the band attempting to remove Crahan. Instead, the band has publicly supported his choice to prioritize family during his absences from live shows. This demonstrates the unity within the group despite external rumors.
