Shinedown had a hilarious response on Instagram to fans wondering about their new album.

“The question what will the new SHINEDOWN album sound like?” the band wrote in their post. “Well, it will sound like SHINEDOWN,” they also said.

“On a serious note, it’s going to sound like everything… Everything that we have been through personally. Everything that we are excited about. Everything that we are ready to express to the world,” the group then explained.

Shinedown continued, “We have said this many times because it is the absolute truth in this band. We only have one boss. It just happens to be everyone in the audience… We have never walked into a studio to write songs for trophies…”

“We are writing these songs because we believe in what we’re doing, and we believe in the message we are presenting to the public… What we can tell you is that we hope you listen with an open mind, a full heart, and a bold imagination…” the band further shared.

They then noted in their message to the fans, “We are doubling down on every style that has ever inspired us so that we may be fearless, and be the band that we set out to be from day one. And that includes bending genres, flirting with soundscapes and personality, and above all pushing the envelope when it comes to creativity…”

“And also, yes, doing our best to take our love of ROCK N’ ROLL to the next level. We hope you are as excited as we are for the next chapter. Let us know in the comments. Love you!!! Brent, Eric, Barry, Zach,” Shinedown members concluded the post.

Earlier this month, Shinedown bassist and producer Eric Bass talked to WRIF radio about the progress of their new album, which will follow 2022’s ‘Planet Zero.’ He said, “We’ve already recorded and produced a couple of songs — well, a handful of songs — already for it. [We’re] half to two thirds [done writing and recording], maybe. We still have some writing left to do.”

“We’re doing this one a little bit differently where we are kind of tracking as we go somewhat. So we’ll get some stuff written and then we’ll track a few songs, and then we’ll get some more stuff written and track a few songs. Usually we wait until everything’s compiled and then we start tracking, but we decided to try it a little differently this time,” the musician revealed.

The band plans to release the new album in 2025 but they don’t have an exact date yet. Shinedown’s only current scheduled show is on May 15 at Welcome to Rockville.
