Shinedown dropped a cryptic ‘warning’ for tomorrow.

“Hi everyone, we’re in New York City currently. It’s coming up I think to 6 pm, even though it feels like midnight,” the band’s frontman Brent Smith said in a video message on the band’s Instagram account. “We’ve been doing a tremendous amount today to get ready for tomorrow. Let’s go.”

In the follow-up Instagram story, the band said, “This is not an announcement… This is a warning.” They also added a countdown for the next day.

Shinedown also released a short teaser for their upcoming song, ‘Dance, Kid, Dance’ on Facebook. We see the date January 21 on television and hear a brief part from the track.

So, they might be working on something to promote their single, ‘Dance, Kid, Dance.’ Shinedown will release two new singles, ‘Three Six Five’ and ‘Dance, Kid, Dance,’ on Friday, January 24. You can pre-save them now.

In December 2024, bassist Eric Bass spoke on The Mistress Carrie Podcast about his debut solo album. He was asked if the band’s eighth album is still set for early 2025. He said, “I would say we’re 85 percent done writing, probably a third of the way done — completely done with the record, meaning that we have songs that are mixed and done and everything. We have a lot of work still left to do.”

Bass also explained the delay in Shinedown’s new music, saying, “A lot of that kind of pushing stuff back — and people get mad at me — has to do with this record that I’ve made and having to see that through. And also giving ‘I Had A Name’ its due, ’cause it’s not gonna come out until February 28th. And at the same time still actively working on the Shinedown record, too.”

He added, “I’m one of these people, man, I’ve gotta do one thing at a time. And if I do one thing at a time and I pour myself into that whole thing, it’s gonna be great. The minute that I start trying to spread things around, they don’t end up the way I want them to. So if I want the Shinedown record to be great, then that’s all I have to be doing at the time.”

In November, Shinedown shared on social media that their new album will be about personal experiences and creativity. They said they wanted to make music for their audience and it’s important for them to blend styles, and push rock ‘n’ roll to new heights.
