The only child of Elvis Presley, Lisa Marie, recently suffered cardiac arrest at her home in Calabasas, California at the age of 54. Sharon Osbourne honored her late friend Lisa on an episode of the Talk and disclosed some details about her personal struggles and how she lived under her father’s shadow.

“It’s terribly hard to make it in the shadow of a legend,” Sharon said. “She tried to make it in the music industry.” However, it sounds like when your father is Elvis, it’s almost impossible to get anywhere near his success, and even though Lisa gave music a go, it didn’t continue as she would have wanted.

Sharon added, “She’s had four failed marriages; I think she was a tortured little soul; she was like this little bird, you know. She was very sweet, a very nice lady, and I think her only joy was her children, and when she lost her son… She’s had a very tragic life, really tragic.” Lisa Marie’s son Benjamin Keough, took his own life in August 2020 when he was just 27 years old, and the grief she felt never left her.

Lisa lived a very turbulent life full of ups and downs, often in the eyes of the public. However, even in her last moments, she tried to stay when her heart was restarted after CPR was performed on her way to a hospital in Los Angeles. Unfortunately, her time had come, as she passed away later that day. Rest in peace Lisa Marie Persley.
