Former Skid Row vocalist Sebastian Bach has shared his thoughts about Australian rock band Rose Tattoo in a recent Instagram post.

“I will never forget back in the late 70s when I was a wee young lad buying the record ‘Assault and Battery’ by Rose Tattoo at Moondance Records and Tapes in Peterborough Ontario,” Bach said. “I had never seen such a tougher looking bunch of dudes in my life!”

“I know that AC/DC are the biggest band in the world from Australia,” he continued. “But to me, Rose Tattoo was my personal band that kicked my a** so hard. We can’t be beaten rock ‘n’ roll outlaw scarred for life. The songs are just incredible, branded.”

“If you’re not familiar with Rose Tattoo, do yourself a favor and crank up the song ‘We Can’t Be Beaten.’ It’s everything that is incredible about rock music,” Bach added. “Rock ‘n’ roll outlaw is one of the most mind blowing anthems of all time. Angry Anderson is one of my all-time favorite frontmen & lead vocalist.”

Bach’s admiration for Rose Tattoo highlights the band’s significant influence on the hard rock scene during their formative years.

Documentation from historical records shows Rose Tattoo’s musical legacy reaches far beyond their Australian roots. Their songs have been covered by numerous prominent acts including Guns N’ Roses, L.A. Guns, and Nashville Pussy.

The legendary production duo Harry Vanda and George Young shaped the band’s powerful sound. These producers were also responsible for crafting AC/DC’s signature style. This shared musical heritage established Rose Tattoo’s distinctive hard rock and blues rock sound that Bach celebrated.

Rose Tattoo’s live performances became legendary during their peak period in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Their appearance at the 1981 Reading Festival marked a milestone. The band earned recognition as one of the loudest acts to perform at London’s iconic Marquee Club since Led Zeppelin.

The band’s raw energy and authentic approach to rock music has influenced generations of musicians. This legacy has secured their place in rock history alongside their Australian contemporaries AC/DC.
