Former Skid Row singer Sebastian Bach is currently touring with Twisted Sister as Dee Snider’s replacement. He has issued a new warning to fans hoping to get his autograph, according to a video shared on Instagram.
The message addressed what Bach will and won’t sign for fans, drawing a clear line between homemade items, official merchandise, and anything created using artificial intelligence.
“I have to do a little video announcement here, okay?” Bach said. “I just met a bunch of fans who met me here at the airport to get pictures and autographs and stuff, and that’s really cool, and I don’t mind that at all. But I’m not signing stuff that you guys made on your printer in your basement, stacks and stacks of it.”
He went on to clarify which items he considers acceptable for signing.
“I will sign official items that have come out under my name, like records, CDs, magazine posters, stuff that’s official,” he continued. “If you’re gonna go make some stuff in your basement, I’m not gonna sign it, okay? I will sign real items.”
Bach then turned his attention specifically to AI-generated material, making his stance unmistakably clear.
“But the real point of this video thing is don’t come to me with AI bullshit for me to sign,” he said. “I will never ever sign anything AI, because I hate it. I f*cking hate AI. I hate it with every fiber of my being. And to see people come up with slop expecting me to sign it, I will never sign it. You’re wasting your time.”
He added that his position differs from other musicians who may accept AI-related items.
“So if you want an autograph, bring something that’s made by humans for humans,” he said. “F*ck AI, and I will never sign anything AI in my life. So you’ve been told. I know all the other bands are doing it. I’m not in those bands. I will never give you guys anything AI.”
Bach closed the video by reiterating his message and specifying what he prefers fans bring instead.
“And don’t make some shit for me to sign, because it makes me want to throw up in my mouth,” he said. “So f*ck AI, but here for vinyl records, CDs, magazines, books, stuff made by humans for humans.”
Bach’s blunt message comes at a moment when he’s front and center with a new band. The comments carry added weight as more fans encounter him on the road.
Bach stepped into the frontman role for Twisted Sister after Dee Snider stepped away from touring duties earlier this year due to health challenges, including arthritis and knee issues. Snider gave his full blessing to Bach taking over. The new lineup made its debut on August 28 at the Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, New Jersey, in a show originally billed under the band’s alter ego, Bent Brother.
The touring lineup includes founding guitarists Jay Jay French and Eddie Ojeda, along with bassist Russell Pzütto and drummer Joey Cassata. The band officially opened its fall run on September 4 at the Alaska State Fair in Palmer, Alaska. The set that night included two Skid Row songs, a nod to Bach’s own history as he steps into Snider’s shoes.
Bach has spoken positively about the transition so far. He called the early performances a success, even amid mixed reactions from longtime fans adjusting to a new voice fronting the band.
“The first three shows were incredible,” Bach said of the tour’s opening run.
The tour is scheduled to continue through the fall, with dates booked into December. The run is expected to wrap up on December 11 in St. Petersburg, Florida.
