Sebastian Bach recently appeared on The Jasta Show and admitted he can be difficult to work with.

Bach and Hatebreed’s Jamey Jasta almost worked together in 2018. That project became ‘For the Love of Metal,’ a solo album by Dee Snider, produced by Jasta.

“People have this complete misconception to the point of just insanity that somehow I don’t write my songs or participate in making records,” the singer said about how he is in the studio. “I am a f*cking control freak.”

Bach further talked about working with Jasta, explaining, “You were sending me completed songs a lot. And the odds of me saying, ‘Okay, I’m going to do this completed song is just very, very rare.'”

“When I’m working with songwriters in my solo band and in Skid Row towards the later years, just my energy and spirit, it’s better when I just get a riff [to build on]. And then I put it in my f*cking playlist and I let it ruminate,” he revealed.

The rocker said his high expectations make collaboration tough, sharing,” I’m a f*cking cunt. In a good way! Like, people just don’t understand until they try to make a record with me.”

In a 2024 interview with Ultimate Classic Rock, Bach was asked if he writes songs and lyrics often. He replied, “I write all of the time, but I don’t ever write [Laughs]. Let me explain what I mean. I’ve always been a guy who collects things. I collect riffs, I collect lyrics and I collect titles. But mainly riffs. I can make a riff into a song. A riff is a riff. I know what a good riff is.”

He went on to say, “I’ve met songwriters that say, ‘I’m going to write a song for Sebastian Bach.’ They put all of this time, effort, and emotion into it. They try to finish a whole song and give it to me. That rarely works. Because I need to feel it in my bones in order to sing it correctly.”

Bach’s latest solo album, ‘Child Within the Man,’ came out in May. He is scheduled to perform in Fargo, North Dakota on May 3.
