With a recent X post, Sean Ono Lennon revealed his hate for Goo Goo Dolls’ 1998 hit, ‘Iris.’ Mentioning his ongoing health struggles, he commented on the song’s lyrics by writing:

“Forgive my feeling a bit negative today from this never-ending lung infection — but the lyric ‘I just want you to know who I am’ is some stupid s**t. That song is so f**king dumb. Ugh. I’m sorry if you like it. But also not sorry. (Good news is I’m getting a six-pack from coughing up ectoplasm).”

Further down in the comments, Lennon found support from some fans who also didn’t favor the track, which peaked in multiple US charts between 1998 and 2016. Upon a tweet saying they also hated the power ballad originally created for the film, ‘City Of Angels,’ the singer shared:

“Thank you! It feels like a big cold sappy wet dog is trying to forcibly snuzzle up to you after walking in the rain.”

His Health Condition

Meanwhile, a few followers gave Lennon medical advice for his lung infection, as he revealed being open to suggestions. Someone wrote:

“Colloidal silver delivered through a nebulizer should clear you right up.”

So, giving more details on his condition, the singer explained:

“I’m big on colloidal silver. In fact, only trio I didn’t take some with me is when I got sick over Thanksgiving.”

When another user told him to ‘quit smoking tobacco,’ Lennon let them know he didn’t smoke but didn’t share any more details on his condition.
