During a recent appearance on KTLA 5, Sammy Hagar revealed that his favorite band is the Circle since their setlist combines tracks from various bands, making it very enjoyable to perform on the stage.

Formed in 2014, Sammy Hagar and the Circle features Sammy Hagar as the lead singer, bassist Michael Anthony, guitarist Vic Johnson, and Jason Bonham on drums. The band started touring in 2014, and they released a live album named ‘At Your Service’ in May 2015. After the live album release, the band members started considering doing a full-length studio album.

They started the process, and their debut studio album was finally released in 2019. ‘Space Between‘ dropped on May 10, 2019, and made a grand entry to the charts by reaching the top spots. The album was preceded by a single called ‘Trust Fund Baby,’ released on January 28, 2019.

The band’s second studio album, ‘Lockdown 2020,’ a collection of their ‘Lockdown Sessions, ‘ also arrived in 2021. It is known that they also recently completed working on their third studio album, which is planned to be released very soon.

Sammy Hagar revealed during his interview that the Circle is his favorite band as they have an extensive setlist featuring his early solo hits, tracks from Montrose, Van Halen, Chickenfoot, and of course, Led Zeppelin, thanks to Jason Bonham.

They also perform their own songs as they already have original materials from their two studio albums. It looks like the band’s setlist is like the summary of Hagar’s entire music career, and he undoubtedly enjoys the diversity during the band’s live performances.

His favorite band in Sammy Hagar’s words:

“The Circle is my favorite band. We play Van Halen era. We play Led Zeppelin because there is Jason Bonham, the son of John Bonham. We play early Sammy, and we play Montrose, we play Chickenfoot. We play post-Sammy, and we play our own stuff because we made two records now, so we got the best setlist in the world.”
