Sammy Hagar Details The Inspiration Behind His New Business Venture

Sammy Hagar recently joined The Hollywood Times for an interview and revealed what inspired him before he embarked on his new business endeavor.

Known for his tenure in Van Halen, Chickenfoot, and The Circle, Sammy Hagar is also an entrepreneur who proved that a rock musician could also be a successful businessman. Hagar’s business ventures include a tequila brand and a restaurant called Cabo Wabo.

Hagar celebrates his birthdays at his restaurant and throws parties called the ‘Birthday Bashes.’ Besides, he uses his live performances and parties to promote his business tactically. In a previous interview, the musician admitted that he would not be able to compete with other companies in any other way.

Apart from his restaurant chain Cabo Wabo, Hagar founded Sammy’s Beach Bar Rum and Sammy’s Beach Bar Cocktail Co., which he launched with a rooftop concert. Recently, the musician introduced his Sammy’s Beach Bar Cocktail Co. to the Sunshine State.

On July 23, the Red Rocker came together with fans at Waterstone Resort & Marina to celebrate the Florida launch of his product. Speaking to The Hollywood Times, the musician said he saw his children drinking cocktails that were ‘garbage’ and decided to make his own and elevate the whole industry with his sparkling rum drinks.

During the conversation, Sammy Hagar said the following:

“It’s a little thing we call experience. I was doing nothing, and the only people around me were just my family. I have children in their 20s and 30s. And so, they were drinking these cocktails they were putting in my refrigerator. I’m going, ‘Hey, what is this? This is crap!’ Tasted it and said, ‘This is garbage!’ That was a few years back when these things were just starting. So I thought, ‘Yeah, I guess you can make something better; I can.’

So, having nothing to do, having a liquor team, and you know I have been in the spirits business since 1998, I started putting together some ideas. And we designed the cans, designed the package, got the flavors together, and I said, ‘What do I like?’ ‘I want to use and make sparkling rum drinks.’ And that’s how it’s different from spirit drinks; they were all beer based when you burp and get that kind of… I just wanted to make them and elevate the whole industry. And by the time I came out, I was just one guy; I don’t have a giant corporation, but we are big boys.”
