Sam Claflin received validation for his portrayal in ‘Daisy Jones & the Six’ directly from the rock legend, Stevie Nicks, who inspired the show.

Recently, the actor revealed in a red-carpet interview with E! News that Nicks personally reached out to express her admiration for his performance. Though he was nominated for the best performance by a male actor in a limited series, Claflin made it clear that the rocker’s approval meant so much more to him:

“Stevie Nicks reached out personally, which to me, is [like] I’ve won already. I don’t care about winning tonight. I feel like that recognition, to me, means the world.”

In fact, Nicks even made a little surprise:

“She sent me a bunch of flowers. I arrived to L.A. with this note. That to me is everything. So I feel very smug right now, very, very blessed.”

Who Took Place In The Movie?

In the screen adaptation of Taylor Jenkins Reid’s novel, Sam Claflin took on the role of Billy Dunne, the lead singer of Daisy Jones & the Six. The series chronicles the tumultuous journey of the group as they ascend to become one of the prominent rock bands of the ’70s, along with the dramatic conflicts that lead to their eventual fallout.

Riley Keough played the character of Daisy Jones, complemented by Suki Waterhouse, Will Harrison, Josh Whitehouse, and Sebastian Chacon, who portrayed the other members of the band. Camila Morrone was featured as Camila Alvarez, Billy’s wife, and the band’s photographer.

Nicks Wishes Christine McVie Could See The Show

Fleetwood Mac’s co-lead vocalist and keyboardist Christine McVie, also the creator of some of the band’s biggest hits, passed away on November 30, 2022, after a brief illness. The cause of death was revealed to be an aggressive form of cancer that had spread throughout her body.

Nicks stated that she would want her late bandmate and long-time friend to see the show as well. She wrote on Instagram last August:

“Just finished watching Daisy Jones + the 6 for the 2nd time. In the beginning, it wasn’t really my story, but Riley seamlessly, soon became my story. It brought back memories that made me feel like a ghost watching my own story. It was very emotional for me. I just wish Christine could have seen it. She would have loved it. Hopefully it will continue…”

She also wrote she felt like a ghost watching her own story.
