The residency marks a new touring concept for the band. Geddy Lee explained what fans can expect from the shows.

“We are presently working hard to expand our touring concepts and concoct some new madness to suit this incredible venue and musically perform the kind of show we’ve been doing in some of our ‘one off’ cities,” Lee said.

The band plans to perform full albums during the residency. “Meaning playing all of 2112 and all of Moving Pictures along with an array of other songs,” Lee continued. “We are so effin’ excited to make use of this incredible opportunity to please our fans both visually and viscerally- from wherever they might fly in from. Gonna be so much fun!!”

The five shows are scheduled for May 21, 23, 26, 28, and 30, 2027.

Anika Nilles was announced as Rush’s touring drummer in October 2025, marking the band’s return to live performance after 11 years away. The announcement came as the band prepared for their Fifty Something reunion tour, which began in June 2026 and will continue through May 2027. The tour represents the first concerts since the death of legendary drummer and lyricist Neil Peart in 2020, who died following a battle with brain cancer.

The Sphere Las Vegas residency follows the international leg of the Fifty Something tour, which will take the band through South America and Europe in early 2027. Lee noted that when he first learned about the Sphere venue, he saw its potential as a perfect match for Rush’s visual approach to live shows. The band’s use of the venue’s LED display, which wraps up, over and around the audience, will create an immersive experience for fans traveling from across the world.

The residency will celebrate Rush’s musical legacy while honouring Neil Peart’s memory. The setlist will feature greatest hits and fan favourites, with full albums including 2112 and Moving Pictures forming the core of the performances. Lee and bassist Alex Lifeson will perform alongside Nilles and keyboardist Loren Gold, bringing together the band’s classic and contemporary sounds under one of the world’s most advanced concert venues.
