Roger Waters has shared details about Marianne Faithfull’s final musical work following her recent passing. He posted a heartfelt tribute on X.
The Pink Floyd co-founder revealed information about Faithfull’s last completed song. He reflected on their friendship in his social media statement.
“My lovely friend Marianne Faithfull has shed this mortal coil, we loved her,” Waters said. “I had lunch with her and her grandson Oscar last summer. They were working on her new song, ‘Love Is.’ It is finished. Oscar sent it to me yesterday. It is very beautiful. Fitting last words from a great lady.”
Waters also shared personal memories from their recent interactions.
“Pics are our last lunch last summer and a visit to her flat in Montparnasse in 2019,” he continued. “Sleep tight my lovely. Love R.”
The tribute includes references to photographs from their final meeting and a previous visit to Faithfull’s Paris residence.
Waters’ emotional tribute highlights the personal connections that defined Faithfull’s later years. She remained creatively active until the end of her remarkable career.
