Jack Osbourne recently shared his thoughts on Roger Waters’ controversial remarks about Ozzy Osbourne. He addressed the issue in an interview featured on Rolling Stone UK.

The comments came in response to a question about the music Ozzy would play at home. Jack reflected on his father’s eclectic taste before turning his attention to Waters’ behavior.

“He would play the most random sh*t,” Jack said. “He went through a deep Michael Jackson phase at one point, and he went through a heavy Eighties phase. He always would play Peter Gabriel.”

Jack then expressed his disappointment with Roger Waters, particularly given Ozzy’s appreciation for Pink Floyd’s music.

“And the shitty thing is — one of the things that bums me out the most about the whole fucking Roger Waters bullshit — is that he was always playing Pink Floyd,” he continued. “F*cking asshat how that guy is. I think it’s just jealousy. It’s like, ‘Dude, when you die, they might just do a cheers at the local pub.'”

Jack’s anger stems from Waters’ highly disrespectful comments made shortly after Ozzy’s death in July 2025. The controversy erupted when Waters publicly dismissed the Black Sabbath legend’s legacy and cultural impact.

Ultimate Classic Rock reported that Waters described Ozzy’s lifelong public presence as “idiocy and nonsense.” He stated he didn’t care about Black Sabbath or Ozzy’s music. Waters even mocked the infamous bat-biting story, initially confusing a bat with a chicken and then calling the real story “even worse.”

“I couldn’t give a f[—]. I don’t care about Black Sabbath, I never did,” Waters stated. He characterized Ozzy’s cultural footprint as something trivial and unimportant.

Jack Osbourne initially responded to Waters on Instagram about six weeks after his father’s passing. He called the Pink Floyd co-founder “pathetic” and “out of touch.” Fox News noted that Jack told Waters to “F— you” and condemned him for gaining attention through such disrespectful comments. Jack also recalled that his father himself thought Waters was a “c–.” He added that Waters had just proven his father right.

The feud has drawn significant media attention. Fans largely sided with Jack Osbourne and viewed Waters’ comments as both disrespectful and poorly timed, especially given the recent mourning period for Ozzy’s death. AXS TV covered how the controversy unfolded publicly in late August and early September 2025, sparking widespread criticism of Waters across social media and music communities.
