Roger Waters Announces The Release Of Pink Floyd’s Artwork Book

Pink Floyd legend Roger Waters shared a post in his official Twitter account a few days ago and excited the fans with the good news that ‘The Art of Pink Floyd The Wall’ will be published on December 9, 2021.

Pink Floyd’s eleventh studio album, ‘The Wall,’ was released on November 30, 1979, and it achieved great commercial success. Roger Waters is the creator of the concept, and the lyrics of the album are based on his and Syd Barrett’s personal experiences. It is a concept album, which focuses on a fictional character named Pink, who isolates himself from society.

‘The Wall’ is used as a metaphor to describe Pink’s isolation and loneliness. After attracting worldwide attention, Pink Floyd organized The Wall Tour in 1980 and 81. They performed 31 shows in total, and some were featured in their live album named ‘Is There Anybody Out There? The Wall Live 1980-81.’ Later on, in 1982, The Wall was also adapted to a film called ‘Pink Floyd – The Wall,’ which was released in 1982.

It has been forty-two years since its release, but The Wall album never lost its influence with its relevant themes. According to Roger Water’s announcement, The Wall will now also be released in a book format with Gerald Scarfe’s visual interpretation. It is definitely a work of art that will attract a lot of attention with its striking illustrations.

Here is how Waters informed the fans:

“My mate, genius Gerald Scarfe’s great new Wall art book is coming out soon!

It’s bloody great Gel.”
