Roger Waters has announced a new 2027 tour called Legacy, but he will not be performing. His son Harry Waters will perform with the band instead. The production celebrates the music and visual world of Pink Floyd’s golden era.
The announcement describes the show and its focus on the band’s work from 1971 to 1979.
“Roger Waters Presents LEGACY – A Pink Floyd Show is an all-new live production celebrating the defining music and visual world of Pink Floyd’s golden era from 1971-1979,” the announcement said.
The announcement also explained who is behind the production and what songs will be played.
“Created under the direction of Roger Waters with a band led by his son Harry Waters, a longtime touring musician, pianist and composer, LEGACY features a world-class 10-piece band,” it said. “The band performs the ground breaking songs from The Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals and The Wall.”
The announcement then detailed Harry Waters’ role and the staging.
“Harry, who spent more than 15 years performing alongside his father, serves as musical director and leads the band on B3 organ, piano and vocals,” the announcement continued. “Musically, the production aims to recreate the original recordings as closely as possible.”
“The stage presentation shaped by Roger’s team features a pictorial retrospective of imagery inspired by the original Pink Floyd work,” it added. “That includes visuals Roger created during his tenure as the band’s creative force, all presented on high-definition LED video screens.”
“Spanning more than two hours, LEGACY reaches deep into Pink Floyd’s catalog,” the announcement said. “It celebrates the music that defined a generation, music that is just as relevant today.”
Roger Waters also commented on the project in the press release.
“These songs have meant so much to so many people for so many years, and I’m excited for audiences to come together and experience them live again,” Waters said. “Harry has assembled a terrific band, and I can’t wait for fans around the world to see the special show we’ve created together.”
Harry Waters also spoke about his connection to the music and working with his father.
“I fell in love with the music immediately,” he said. “It really had an impact on me, irrespective of any bias because it was Dad’s music. I still love it deeply to this day.”
“Collaborating with Dad on this new production is such an honor,” he continued. “I’m so grateful to have the opportunity to bring this music to fans old and new, around the world.”
The scale of the tour shows how seriously the project is being taken, even without Roger Waters on stage. The schedule, the band’s role and the setlist are all already in place.
The tour will begin on February 15, 2027, at the RiverCenter for the Performing Arts in Columbus, Georgia. The first leg of the 58-date run continues through May 2, when it ends in Wilmington, North Carolina. After a break, the second leg starts on August 31 at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Vancouver, British Columbia. It wraps up on September 25 in St. Louis.
The plan goes well beyond those announced dates, and the scope of the project is clear:
“The extensive tour will begin in Columbus, Georgia on February 15, 2027, and will ultimately visit more than 100 cities across North America and Europe.”
The setlist will stay within a tightly defined period. The band will play music exclusively from the four albums named above. Those records span the band’s work in the 1970s, and the show’s focus on that era is deliberate.
