The longtime Rob Zombie bassist Piggy D. has left the band, and his replacement has been announced recently.
On January 30, Piggy D. confirmed that he is leaving the band after nearly two decades. Not even 24 hours later, the Rob Zombie rockers revealed that their original bassist, Rob ‘Blasko’ Nicholson, would take his place.
The news came just a few hours after the former bassist’s announcement post. Zombie wrote on Instagram:
“After 18 years I am thrilled to announce that Blasko has returned. The original four-string Zombie monster is back. Get ready for a crazy summer of mayhem.”
Fans expressed their dissatisfaction with the band, noting that there was no acknowledgment or show of appreciation for the former bassist.
Piggy D.’s Explanation About Leaving Rob Zombie

In the post the bassist made about his departure, he did not specify a reason as to why he left but instead expressed gratitude. In a message shared on Instagram, Piggy D stated:
“Dear friends, my time with [Rob] Zombie has come to an end. It was an honor to entertain you for the last 18 years. I look forward to the future and wish everyone the best. Peace and love.”
Piggy D’s departure follows guitarist John 5, who left the band in October of the previous year. John 5 joined Mötley Crüe on tour, stepping in for founding guitarist Mick Mars.
Before the official announcement, Rob Zombie performed at Aftershock 2022 in Sacramento, California, with Mike Riggs, the original guitarist for his solo band. Riggs had been with Zombie from 1997 until 2003. John 5, who initially left Marilyn Manson’s band, joined forces with Zombie in 2005 until his departure in 2022.
