Former Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora shared an old video of a 2007 performance with the band and spoke about his connection with drummer Tico Torres, posted on X.
Sambora’s message focused on his musical relationship with Torres and their work together in Bon Jovi. The post came as a response to fans’ interest in a potential reunion.
“Tico and I going at it….We felt the groove the same. Always exciting to hit the gas pedal with him….” Sambora wrote.
The comments from fans reflected their enthusiasm for the possibility of the band reuniting. One fan wrote: “This has made my Friday!! Tico and Richie the absolute engine, heart, and soul of that band.”
Another added: “Make it happen again!!”
Sambora’s remarks suggest the guitarist and drummer remain on good terms, even as Sambora has had a public dispute with Bon Jovi singer Jon Bon Jovi.
Sambora left Bon Jovi in 2013 during the “Because We Can” tour. In a 2022 interview, Sambora said the band had become a “Jon-centric machine.” He has stated multiple times he is open to rejoining under the right circumstances, and Jon Bon Jovi has said the door is always open. However, Sambora will not be on the road with the band for its summer 2026 tour.
In the 2024 documentary “Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story” on Hulu, Sambora apologized to his fellow bandmates for the way he left the group, though he stood by his decision. Jon Bon Jovi revealed that he and Richie watched the documentary together when it was released. Sambora has said he does not regret leaving the band, only how he departed.
Tico Torres joined Bon Jovi in 1983, and his drumming style complemented the vocal work of Jon Bon Jovi and the guitar skills of Richie Sambora. The 2007 performance that Sambora shared in his recent post came from the Lost Highway Tour, which ran from October 2007 to July 2008. Sambora has reposts fan comments questioning Bon Jovi’s authenticity without him, which continues to fuel speculation about a potential reunion.
