Red Hot Chili Peppers Tease New Music With John Frusciante
On their official Instagram account, Red Hot Chili Peppers shared a new video teasing a new material including their guitarist John Frusciante‘s guitar performance. The band’s bassist Flea also posted the video to highlight that they are ready to release what they have been working on.
John Frusciante joined Red Hot Chili Peppers as the band’s guitarist in 1988 after the guitarist Hillel Slovak passed away due to a heroin overdose on June 25, 1988. However, Frusciante also became heavily addicted to heroin when the band became very popular and commercially successful. Frusciante started to isolate himself and only used drugs without even talking with the band members.
In 1998, Frusciante checked into Las Encinas Drug Rehabilitation Center to get rid of his addiction which was destroying his life and career. A short time later, Flea asked John to rejoin RHCP. After Frusciante joined the band, they released their most successful album, ‘Californication.’ The guitarist went on performing as an RHCP member until he decided to leave the band to focus on his solo musical career in 2009. He announced his return in 2019 so the upcoming twelfth studio album will be Frusciante’s first album after more than fifteen years.
In addition, they announces their upcoming 2022’s Global Stadium Tour with a very funny video in which Kiedis and Flea pretended as news anchors then Frusciante joined them and gave details about the new tour dates. It will start on June 4, 2022, and end on September 18, 2022. Red Hot Chili Peppers continued to share the good news with their fans by teasing their new music featuring their legendary guitarist’s parts that the fans are looking forward to listening to it. Then, Flea expressed his thoughts and stated that they have been working on it for a while and it’s time to set ‘the feral animal’ free.
Flea’s IG post read:
“We been nurturing the feral animal for quite a while, it’s about time to set her free.“
