Rage Against The Machine shared a heartbreaking announcement on their official Instagram account. The band said they had to cancel their tour’s August and September 2022 UK and European legs due to the medical advice Zack de la Rocha received.

In 2019, Rage Against The Machine announced that they were reuniting in 2020 to come together for their first show in nine years. In February 2020, the band announced a worldwide reunion tour called ‘Public Service Announcement.’ However, the pandemic impacted their scheduled dates, and they had to hold off until spring and summer 2022.

Although their comeback started on a high note, La Rocha hurt his leg while on stage at Chicago’s United Center. Even though the band didn’t specify in their recent announcement why La Rocha was advised to cancel their tour’s UK and European leg, fans assumed that it was due to his recent accident.

The band stated that Zack de la Rocha was advised to go home and rest; thus, they had to cancel their tour’s UK and European legs for August and September 2022. The band added that they will finish the Madison Square Garden run and stop performing until their scheduled 2023 dates. They apologized to the fans expecting to watch them live and said they can’t wait to return to Rage again.

Rage Against The Machine’s IG post read:

Per medical guidance, Zack de la Rocha has been advised that the August and September 2022 UK and European leg of the Rage Against The Machine tour cannot proceed. It is with great disappointment that we announce this cancellation.

Rage Against The Machine will finish their run at Madison Square Garden on August 11, 12 & 14, and then Zack must return home for rest and rehabilitation. The flights, travel time, and rigorous schedule in the UK and Europe are too much of a risk for a complete recovery.

We are sorry to all our fans who have waited years to see us and hope to Rage again soon. Please get in touch with your point of purchase for refunds to any headline shows.

Brad, Tim, Tom & Zack”
