Puscifer has announced their first new album in five years, with the record set to arrive on February 6. The band is previewing the upcoming project with a new single titled “Self Evident,” according to Puscifer’s official Instagram. The single features a video from the band’s first-ever live performance of the track.
The new album marks a shift in creative direction for the band. Maynard James Keenan described the musical approach as a fusion of the band’s early influences. He explained how different sonic elements blend together in this new work.
“We’re definitely leaning into our early influences. It’s the place where goth meets punk. It’s where I came from,” Keenan said.
This upcoming release represents a significant moment in Puscifer’s evolution. The band returns with fresh material after a five-year hiatus. The project showcases their willingness to explore darker, more experimental territory while honoring their musical roots.
The album is titled Normal Isn’t and serves as Puscifer’s fifth studio album, according to Consequence. It marks their first release since 2020’s Existential Reckoning. The project features a darker, more guitar-driven, post-punk style that aligns with Keenan’s vision of blending goth and punk aesthetics with Puscifer’s characteristic experimental approach.
The creative process behind Normal Isn’t has been notably collaborative and spontaneous. Brooklyn Vegan reports that the album features a special contribution from Tool’s drummer Danny Carey on the track “Seven One.” This collaboration adds another layer of depth to the project and underscores the interconnected nature of the progressive rock community. It also demonstrates Puscifer’s openness to bringing in outside talent to enhance their vision.
Beyond the album release, Puscifer is gearing up for an extensive North American tour in 2026. Loudwire reports that the tour will run from March 20 to May 14, 2026. Major cities on the tour include Las Vegas, Dallas, Boston, New York, Chicago, Seattle, and Los Angeles. This tour will give fans the opportunity to experience the new material live and witness the band’s evolution firsthand.
The album arrives February 6, 2026, with “Self Evident” available now.
