Priscilla Presley Admits She Foresaw Daughter Lisa Marie’s Passing
Priscilla Presley recently sat down with director Sofia Coppola for Coppola’s newest film ‘Priscilla,’ which she adapted Priscilla’s 1985 memoir ‘Elvis And Me’ to white screen. Presley also talked about her daughter Lisa Marie’s sudden passing, and how she felt something was off with Lisa:
“I did know there was something not right. We had just gotten there, you go down all these stairs. I tripped a little bit because I had these high heels on, and she started laughing so hard. I started laughing. We hadn’t even had a drink yet. She goes, ‘Oh my God, Mom, you can’t even have a drink.’ It was fun, a fun memory. Then we sat down and ordered drinks, and she says, ‘Mom, my stomach hurts really bad.’ We immediately got up and left.”
She also mentioned what she did after Lisa Marie’s ex husband called Priscilla and informed that her daughter was at the hospital:
“I got right in the car, but she was already gone. I still can’t believe it. I don’t wish this on any mother.”
Lisa Marie’s sudden death was a shock for both the Presley family and their fans. On January 22, at the public memorial, Priscilla read a eulogy, written by one of her granddaughters:
“I have no idea how to put my mother into words, truth is there are too many. Lisa Marie Presley was an icon, a role model, a superhero to many people all over the world, but Mama was my icon, my role model, my superhero in much more ways than one. Even now, I can’t get across everything there is to be understood or known about her but as she always said, ‘I’ll do my best.'”
‘Priscilla’ will be in theatres on October 23, 2023. You can read the rest of the interview here.
