Phil X, current Bon Jovi guitarist, shared his thoughts about Richie Sambora’s possible return in a recent interview with Ultimate Guitar.

“I always say — the most successful tours are reunion tours,” Phil X stated. “So if John called me tomorrow and said, ‘Richie’s coming back,’ I wouldn’t be surprised. I’d be like, ‘Okay, cool man. Can I be on second git?'”

Phil X joined Bon Jovi in 2013 as a touring member. He became an official member in 2016 following Richie Sambora’s departure.

His open-minded stance on a potential reunion demonstrates his extensive industry experience and secure position within the band’s current lineup.

Loudhailer Magazine highlights Phil X’s musical versatility beyond Bon Jovi. He leads his own band, Phil X & The Drills, and appears in the documentary ‘Hired Gun,’ which showcases his career as a session musician.

Phil X Fan Club documents his impressive career before Bon Jovi. He established himself as a prominent session guitarist, working with artists like Chris Cornell, Avril Lavigne, and Alice Cooper.

His impact on Bon Jovi’s creative process has been substantial. He made major contributions to the band’s studio albums ‘This House Is Not for Sale’ (2016) and ‘2020’ (2020). These contributions demonstrate his essential role in crafting the band’s modern sound.

Bon Jovi recently released their latest studio album, ‘Forever,’ in 2024. This release further solidifies Phil X’s position as a key member of the current lineup.
