This is not a drill! Metallica is, in fact, returning to the metal scene six years after ‘Hardwired…To Self Destruct’ with a new album next spring. The 2023 album ‘72 Seasons’ will consist of 12 tracks totaling over 77 minutes. The band is coming in full force, and the new album was not their only announcement; they are also going on a massive tour featuring many openers that we fans will drool over.
The ‘M72 2023-2024 World Tour’ will also feature many famous bands as supporting acts, such as Pantera, Mammoth WVH, Five Finger Death Punch, and Ice Nine Kills. Wolf Van Halen and Phil Anselmo took to their Instagram accounts to share with their fans that they will be a part of the massive tour with Metallica.
Wolf Van Halen wrote, “Mammoth WVH will join Metallica for the EU and US dates of their M72 World Tour, No Repeat Weekend. Two Nights, two Different Opening Acts, In The Round at the 50-Yard Line. Tickets will be on sale on December 2, 2022.”
Phil Anselmo also shared the news, writing, “Pantera will be joining Metallica for the US dates of their M72 World Tour, No Repeat Weekend. Two Nights, two Different Opening Acts, In The Round at the 50-Yard Line.”
Pantera and Mammoth WVH will open the first show in most North American cities, while Five Finger Death Punch and Ice Nine Kills will be opening on the second night. Another exciting part of the tour is that the bands will be playing two different shows in each city, with different setlists, allowing fans to hear several more of their favorite songs. The tour will be one you wouldn’t want to miss. The tickets go on sale on December 2; just saying!
