Jane’s Addiction frontman gave an interview to Rock 955 during this year’s Lollapalooza, and when asked about the future plans for Porno for Pyros, Perry answered:

“So what we do have is three – I think really good – songs. Three songs, and a tour, that’s it.”

When the interviewer Angi Taylor and Farrel’s wife Etty Lau seemed frustrated, he responded:

“I just said three songs and a tour, and you go, ‘Why not an album?'”

Farrell had already mentioned that both bands would release new songs. In June, the vocalist mentioned that new releases couldn’t be called albums during an appearance on 95.5 Klos:

“So this year there’s going to be a lot of music that not only we’re going to be performing, but there’s going to be a lot of music being put out this year. I don’t know if we can call any of them albums; I don’t know if I necessarily am up for an album just yet, but, hey, three or four songs from both groups would be plenty, right? [Even] two great songs, and I know we’ve got two great songs from both groups already.”

In July, Porno for Pyros announced that they would tour for the first time since 1998. When Jane’s guitarist Dave Navarro caught Covid-19 and his recovery was prolonged, their planned concerts were replaced with Porno for Pyros. Now they will embark on a tour to celebrate their 30th anniversary, starting on October 8 in Wheatland California, and ending on November 20, in Austin, Texas.
