Paul Stanley Shares A Sam Cooke Quote And Says ‘One Of The Greatest Singers Ever’

KISS frontman Paul Stanley shared a post on his official Twitter page celebrating the 90th birthday of late musician Sam Cooke with a famous quotation of his, reminding everybody of the importance of honesty. In addition to this, Stanley also praised Cooke by revealing that, according to him, Cooke is one of the greatest singer and song stylists that has ever been.

As you might know, Sam Cooke was an American singer, songwriter, and entrepreneur who was also influential as a composer and producer who is commonly known as the ‘King of Soul’ for his distinctive vocals and significance in popular music.

Unfortunately, Sam Cooke was shot and killed by the manager of a motel in Los Angeles back in 1964. After an inquest and investigation, the courts ruled Cooke’s death to be a justifiable homicide, however, his family has been questioning the circumstances of his death since then.

For Cooke’s 90th birthday, Paul Stanley shared a post on his official Twitter page including a quotation of Cooke that conveys a message of the importance of honesty by stating that one’s voice should be measured with truth rather than its beauty.

Here is what the quotation said:

“Sam Cooke said this when told he has a beautiful voice: He said: ‘Well that’s very kind of you, but voices ought not to be measured by how pretty they are. Instead, they matter only if they convince you that they are telling the truth.‘”

In addition to this, Paul Stanley also stated that Sam Cooke was one of the greatest singers and he continued to influence so many other musicians. Stanley stressed the fact that despite his quotation is quite simple, it is often missed by so many.

Here is what Stanley said:

“Yesterday Would Have Been Sam Cooke’s 90th Birthday. One of the greatest singer/song stylists ever, he has & continues to influence so many. My Brother In Music & Guitarist Extraordinaire Audley Freed sent me this quote. So simple & yet so often missed. A BIG Amen. RIP SAM COOKE”
