Paul Stanley Confirms KISS Movie ‘Shout It Out Loud’

KISS’ Paul Stanley recently confirmed that they are working on a new KISS biopic titled ‘Shout It Out Loud.’

As you know, KISS screened how they climbed the ladder of success and became one of the most influential rock bands in the world with a documentary. Titled ‘Biography: KISStory,’ the documentary aired on June 27 and June 28 in two parts.

According to the band’s manager Doc McGee, a new KISS biopic titled ‘Shout It Out Loud’ is on the way. In an interview with Talking Metal, he stated that the new biopic will revolve around the social pressures that shaped the band’s image and sound during their first four years. He also predicted that the biopic’s casting would start before Thanksgiving.

Talking about the new biopic, Doc McGee told Talking Metal that:

“The script is about the first four years of Kiss. Basically, it’s before they were famous. I think it’s a very interesting look at the formation of KISS, the mindset of how that came about, the social pressure that everybody was under in the ’60s and ’70s that brought something like KISS to the forefront so that it could actually happen.

So, it’s very interesting, and I think it’s a well-written, movie. And our partner right now is Netflix. It’ll be a theatrical release, then Netflix. I believe before Thanksgiving we’ll be in the casting.”

In a recent interview by UCR, Paul Stanley also talked about the biopic ‘Shout It Out Loud.’ He said that band’s history is long and hard to chronicle. Thus, the biopic focuses on how it all started and reached the boiling point. He then confirmed that ‘Shout It Out Loud’ is now a work-in-progress, and its’ casting and other announcements are expected before the end of the year.

Paul Stanley told UCR that:

“We weren’t looking to document the band’s history. I think it’s too big a story to try to chronicle all of it. I think the dynamics of how it started and how it reached the boiling point and got that initial success are really engaging. There are loads of great stories afterward, but that’s the foundation that we built on. That’s what made everything else possible, so that’s the story to tell.

The film is a work in progress, with casting and other announcements expected before year’s end.”

The Netflix biopic ‘Shout It Out Loud’ will be directed by Joachim Ronning, and it will focus on the first four years of KISS’ career until their breakthrough with the ‘Alive!’ album.
