Wednesday 13 revealed an unusual interaction with late Slipknot bassist Paul Gray in a recent Garza Podcast interview.

“Paul Gray was around the very beginning. I remember Paul was… I didn’t even meet anyone else in Slipknot except for Paul and Joey because they constantly hung out. I didn’t know Paul that well. We see each other we’d hang out and buddies,” Wednesday 13 said.

“When Slipknot got nominated for like their second Grammy or something, he called me and asked me to go to the Grammys with him. I didn’t even know him that well and I just found that odd,” he continued. “I went, ‘Dude I’d love to I don’t think my wife will let me go.'”

“She wouldn’t have let me go. I asked him, ‘You don’t have anybody else to go with you?’ He replied, ‘No.’ I just found that odd,” Wednesday 13 explained. “That was a weird thing like he asked me to go to the Grammy. I wondered, ‘Your band doesn’t want to go?'”

“It was one that they didn’t go to. He just thought of me. I would have gone, but that would have started the divorce earlier,” he concluded.

Wednesday 13 continues to honor his connections with former Slipknot members through various tributes and musical projects.

Blabbermouth reported that Wednesday 13 now includes special tributes to Joey Jordison in his recent tours. This follows the former Slipknot drummer’s passing in 2021.

The musical bond between Wednesday 13 and Slipknot members extends beyond casual friendship. Joey Jordison served as the guitarist for the Murderdolls. This collaboration strengthened their connection over the years.

Blabbermouth revealed that Wednesday 13’s upcoming album will feature a song titled ‘I Have This Knife.’ The track draws inspiration from Jordison. Its concept emerged from their text message exchange about their shared love for the movie ‘Texas Chain Saw Massacre.’

The Grammy invitation story with Paul Gray illustrates the close personal relationships between Wednesday 13 and Slipknot members. These connections, particularly with Gray and Jordison, remained strong despite limited public interactions.
