Paramore Controversy Continues: ALTer Ego Fest Drops Them Out, Replacement Is Announced
Paramore recently stepped back from their upcoming performance at iHeartRadio’s ALTer Ego festival. This move followed the band’s decision to remove everything on their social media accounts and official website, causing speculations among fans.
They announced the cancellation news on Instagram Stories:
“Due to unforeseen circumstances, Paramore can no longer attend and perform at iHeartRadio ALTer EGO on January 13. The band apologizes for any inconvenience.”
Who Will Replace Them?
In the wake of Paramore’s departure, iHeartRadio quickly filled the gap with another rock group. Fall Out Boy will now take the stage in Los Angeles on January 13.
The ‘Centuries’ band shared the news on X with a poster and wrote:
“Surprise! We’re hitting the iHeartRadio ALTer Ego stage on January 13th; see ya there!”
Paramore’s Future Is Not Clear
All this came after Paramore members expressed uncertainty about their future following the ending of their contract with Atlantic Records with their latest album, ‘This Is Why.’ They explained more about their situation in a statement on Instagram Stories last month:
“Now that Paramore has spent the year touring behind ‘This Is Why’ (and making sure to take better care of themselves while they’re at it), a chapter of the band’s career has come to a close. They’ve now fulfilled all label obligations and are effectively free agents. As for the future of Paramore, all three members agreed that there’s a level of uncertainty.”
Despite the doubts surrounding their future, the band has scheduled appearances from May to July 2024. They are set to open for Taylor Swift on the European leg of her ‘Eras’ tour.
