Papa Roach has withdrawn from this weekend’s Louder Than Life festival after bassist Tobin Esperance experienced a health emergency. The band shared the news in a statement on Instagram.
“After careful consideration and advice from medical professionals, Papa Roach bassist Tobin Esperance will be unable to perform this weekend due to an unexpected emergency,” the band said. “Therefore, we will not be able to perform at this year’s Louder Than Life festival, and wish everyone the best.”
“Right now, Tobin’s health is our immediate concern,” the statement continued. “We look forward to welcoming him back on stage in November. We appreciate the continued support and respect for his privacy at this time.”
Papa Roach announced the cancellation on September 18, one day before it had been scheduled to close the Life Stage. Louder Than Life runs September 17 through 20 at the Kentucky Exposition Center’s Highland Festival Grounds in Louisville, Kentucky.
No further details about Esperance’s emergency or the band’s November plans have been announced.
