Pantera will team up with Amon Amarth for the 2025 U.S. tour, dubbed “the heaviest tour of the summer.”
The tour starts on July 15 in Pennsylvania and ends on September 13 in Florida, with 29 stops. Pantera and Amon Amarth will be joined by another guest, to be announced later.
Tickets go on sale Friday, February 28, at 10 AM local time on Pantera’s website. Pantera will also join Metallica’s M72 tour in North America this spring.
Pantera’s tour features Phil Anselmo, Rex Brown, Zakk Wylde, and Charlie Benante, honoring late members Vinnie Paul and Dimebag Darrell. It follows their shows with Metallica, Suicidal Tendencies, and a special U.K. event with Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne.
In 2023, Brown and Anselmo reunited for the band’s first major tour in over 20 years. Wylde and Benante joined to replace Vinnie Paul and Dimebag Darrell. They toured Europe and opened for Metallica.
In a previous interview with Sweetwater, Brown discussed touring with a reformed Pantera, via Blabbermouth. Rex stated, “The last show, man, I had a creepy, like a cold — something came by me. It felt like there was a cold feeling. And I’ve gotten this a couple of times before.”
“When we were down recording with Charlie — me and Charlie just went down [in late 2022], put up eighty to a hundred hours of tape before Zakk [started rehearsing with us]. Zakk was still on the road,” the bassist noted.
He added, “So we wanted to get the bass and the drum real tight, and we had this scratch guitar player. I felt that same chill. And, to me, they’re angels. And I think you know who they are. Those guys, I think they’re looking down, or they’re looking around us, with us, and I think they’re digging what they’re seeing, man. I really do.”
“And that’s the only kind of way I can look at it, and get as close as we can with Charlie and Zakk. And God, it’s getting really, really good. And there’s so much more potential to get even tighter,” Brown said.
Pantera started its 2025 European tour on January 21 at Helsingin Jäähalli in Helsinki, Finland.
