Faith No More have announced their return to live performance nearly 10 years after their last show in 2016. The band will join System of a Down for a stadium tour across Australia and New Zealand in January and February 2027.
The announcement marks the band’s first major touring commitment in almost a decade. Faith No More addressed the news directly in a statement to their fans.
“It’s been a minute. Let’s do this Australia and NZ,” the band said. “Joining our friends System of a Down as we take over stadiums Jan/Feb 2027.”
The announcement drew mixed reactions from fans. Some expressed disappointment that the band would be supporting System of a Down rather than headlining their own tour. “Should’ve done your own tour,” one fan commented, while another added, “Shouldn’t it be Faith No More headlining and System opening? Sounds backwards.”
The tour spans four confirmed stadium dates across both countries. Shows are locked in for Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Wellington. The run kicks off at Accor Stadium in Sydney on January 22, followed by Marvel Stadium in Melbourne on January 27, Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane on February 1, and a final date in Wellington, New Zealand.
For System of a Down, the tour also marks a significant return. The band last headlined in Australia more than a decade ago. The 2027 run will be their biggest Australian shows to date. It follows the success of their recent European and UK stadium tour, which included back-to-back sellouts in Paris, London, and Warsaw.
The tour was not entirely a surprise. Fans had already begun speculating after promotional logos for both bands were spotted at locations across Australia and New Zealand in the days leading up to the official announcement.
Tickets go on sale in stages. An artist presale begins July 28, a PayPal First Access window opens July 29, and general public sales start July 31.
No further tour dates outside of Australia and New Zealand have been announced at this time.
