Ozzy Osbourne Releases A New Video Of His Collaboration With Post Malone For His Song, ’It’s A Raid’
Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne just released the music video for his song ‘It’s a Raid’ featuring famous singer Post Malone on his official Youtube channel and it’s an animated video including both Ozzy and Post Malone re-creating the hilarious incident when Ozzy accidentally triggered the alarm system at a rented house and soon surrounded by police in 1972.
As many of you know, Ozzy Osbourne released his twelfth studio album, ‘Ordinary Man,’ on 21 February 2020, and the album generally received positive reviews, with many considering it Osbourne’s best album in years. After releasing three singles, ‘Under the Graveyard,’ ‘Straight to Hell,’ and ‘Ordinary Man’ featuring singer Elton John, Osbourne released the fourth single ‘It’s a Raid’ featuring Post Malone, on 20 February 2020, a day before the release of the album.
‘It’s a Raid’ is not the first time Ozzy Osbourne and Post Malone collaborated since the duo released ‘Take What You Want’ for Post Malone’s third studio album, ‘Hollywood’s Bleeding’ in September 2019 which also received positive views, peaking at number eight on the US Billboard Hot 100 songs chart.
As you may recall, there has been a tragic yet funny incident when Ozzy Osbourne pressed the buttons on the wall at a rented house in order to turn on the air conditioner, thinking it’s too hot, however, instead of turning the ac on, he actually triggered the alarm system at the house, which eventually led the house to be surrounded by armed police.
Here is what Osbourne said about the incident:
“I’m sitting there, great, Bel Air, sun shining, coke at hand, booze. I’m thinking, ‘Fuck me, I’ve made it here!’ I’m sitting in this house and it’s fuckin’ boiling hot. I see these buttons on the wall and I go, ‘Oh, must be the air conditioning.’ I pressed the fuckin’ button, and about five minutes, four or five cop cars come screaming down the drive. I’m shouting, ‘It’s a fuckin’ raiiiiid!’
So me and this roadie, we grab the big bowl of coke, and the pot, we go into the bathroom. I’m going, ‘I can’t fuckin’ throw this.’ I had coke coming out my fuckin’ ears. I didn’t sleep for four days after that.”
The recently released music video for Ozzy Osbourne and Post Malone’s track ‘It’s a Raid’ was inspired by this incident as the animated video was a recreation of Osbourne’s incident in 1972 with the animated characters of Malone and Osbourne. The video has just released on Ozzy Osbourne’s official Youtube channel, however, it already has nearly 500k views.
Here is what Ozzy said about the video:
“A couple of years ago I didn’t even know who Post Malone was. Since then we’ve worked together on two studio tracks and have performed together twice. Understandably COVID-19 made it difficult to get together to shoot a music video for ‘It’s a Raid’ so we opted for this wildly imagined animated video for the final single from the ‘Ordinary Man’ album.”
