The Osbournes are back like they said they would. In the first episode of their family podcast, Ozzy gave updates about his current health condition. Unfortunately, the details aren’t very bright. The Prince of Darkness explained the steps of the fourth surgery he will be undergoing due to the damage he took back in 2019 and expressed his doubts about the procedure:
“My lower back is, I’m going for an epidural soon because what’s happening, what they’ve discovered is the neck has been fixed, below the neck there’s two vertebrae where the bike hit me and disintegrated, there’s nothing left of them. I don’t know what the f*ck [the doctors are] doing.”
He also summarised his current condition:
“All I know is right now I’m in a lot of pain, I’m in a lot of discomfort.”
Ozzy has been having health problems severe enough to keep him away from his musical career since 2019. He has refused to go back to touring before recovering fully because he is too afraid to disappoint his fans.
In 2019, he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease and underwent surgery after he survived a fall at home. His wife and manager, Sharon, explained the situation in a separate interview:
“It’s been terribly challenging for us all.”
In the same interview, dated 2020, Osbourne summarised the surgical procedure and why it was necessary:
I got a numbness down this arm for the surgery; my legs keep going cold. I don’t know if that’s the Parkinson’s or what, you know, but that’s — see, that’s the problem. Because they cut nerves when they did the surgery, I’d never heard of nerve pain, and it’s a weird feeling.
In 2022, he had another surgery due to his chronic pain. In another interview, Sharon explained the surgery’s necessity:
“These metal plates were working there way out… the debris was rubbing on his spinal cord. He would literally be crying in pain some days.”
