Guitarist Zakk Wylde recently shared details about Ozzy Osbourne’s final endeavors before stepping away from the spotlight. According to reporting from NJ.com, Wylde explained that Osbourne had expressed interest in recording another album together.
The two musicians drew inspiration from the melodic yet heavy sound they had created during their previous collaboration on “No More Tears.”
“Ozzy was texting me, ‘Zakk, let’s do another record. Because I really loved it when you were going through your Allman Brothers, Skynyrd phase when we did ‘No More Tears,’ it’s heavy but it’s more melodic, it’s not pummeling heavy,'” Wylde said. “So I said, ‘Alright Oz, whatever you want.'”
Osbourne completed several major projects before announcing his retirement. Wylde recalled: “We did the show, he ended up finishing his book, they did the documentary, and then he was like, ‘All right, I’m out of here.’ He finished everything he had to do and then he was like, ‘All right, I’m done.'”
