Sharon Osbourne and the official Ozzfest account have launched a cryptic countdown timer pointing to a major announcement on November 5th at 7:00 AM, sparking wild speculation among fans about the potential lineup. The teaser was posted on Instagram.
Sharon Osbourne posted simply: “November 5th 7am Ozzfest” The official Ozzfest account added: “Ozzfest.com Countdown’s Begun” Both posts offered no details about what the announcement would contain.
Fans immediately flooded the comments with guesses about which bands might appear at the festival. Some threw out lengthy lists of potential acts. “Black Sabbath (with Tony Martin), Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson, KoRn, Slayer, Metallica, Gojira, Bring Me The Horizon, Guns N Roses, Spiritbox, Bad Omens, Anthrax, Rival Sons, Pantera, Limp Bizkit, Slipknot, Slaughter To Prevail, Falling In Reverse, Jack White, The Pretty Reckless,” one wrote.
“Remaining members of Black Sabbath with Zakk Wylde as lead singer,” another one speculated. “Black label society opens up!”
Not all comments focused on the lineup. Some fans expressed concern about ticket prices before any official details were released. One wrote: “Please don’t rip off your fans. Make it affordable.”
The countdown comes as anticipation builds for whatever Ozzfest has planned for its next edition. The full announcement is set to arrive on November 5th.
Ozzfest is set to return after nearly a decade away from the festival circuit. Sharon Osbourne created the festival in 1996 as a heavy alternative to Lollapalooza, after the founder’s request for Ozzy to perform at that festival was rejected. Over the years, Ozzfest helped launch the careers of major metal and alternative bands including System of a Down, Disturbed and Deftones.
The festival’s return will take place without Ozzy Osbourne, who died in 2025. According to earlier statements from Sharon, the festival was something Ozzy remained passionate about throughout his life. She described it as a way of giving young talent a stage in front of many people. The last Ozzfest took place as a one-day event on December 31st, 2018, in Inglewood, California.
Plans are in place to bring Ozzfest back to Villa Park in Birmingham, England in 2027, with additional shows in North America also in the works. Sharon has been working with Live Nation to organize the festival’s return, building on the legacy of an event that has served as a launching pad for emerging metal acts since 1996.
