Oasis has faced criticism from fans over their new Adidas collaboration merchandise. This prompted frontman Liam Gallagher to defend the partnership in a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter).

The controversy began when fans expressed mixed reactions to the merchandise collaboration. Some supporters questioned the timing and authenticity of the partnership.

One Oasis fan said: “I love (most) of both franchises… and I get it, it’s all part of the Masterplan and great business. But surely this ‘new’ Adidas/Oasis collaboration is and rightly so just for the young fans who are being blessed for the 1st time with the reunion/live shows/music/hype.”

Another fan commented: “I think it looks a bit rushed and just a blatant cash grab… Umbro are more associated with oasis than Adidas.”

Gallagher responded directly to the criticism with his characteristic bluntness.

“I’m hearing loads of chat about who this Adidas / Oasis collaboration is for. It’s for everyone. Now, get involved and stop crying your heart out,” he said.

He continued with a more pointed message to critics: “And if it’s not your cup of tea DON’T buy it but don’t MOAN about it as well, you soft c*nts.”

The merchandise collaboration comes amid heightened interest in Oasis following their reunion announcement.

The current controversy reflects the deep connection between Oasis and sportswear culture that has defined the band’s identity for decades. This latest partnership builds on a relationship that extends far beyond simple merchandising.

Hypebeast reported that the new Adidas collection is titled “Original Forever” and celebrates 30 years of shared history between Oasis and the brand. The collection features reimagined classic ’90s styles including tracksuits, jerseys, bucket hats, and coach jackets available in black, blue, or white. All items are co-branded with Adidas Originals and the Oasis emblem.

The timing of this collaboration is particularly significant as it coincides with the band’s upcoming Live ’25 tour. Design Scene noted that this campaign reaffirms the cultural link between music and sportswear that defined an era. The partnership positions itself as more than just commercial merchandise.

The Independent highlighted that this collaboration marks a rare moment of public unity. Liam and Noel Gallagher are pictured together for the first time since announcing the reunion tour. This visual representation of the brothers’ reconciliation highlights the significance of the partnership beyond just merchandise sales.

The collaboration represents a full-circle moment for a band whose relationship with Adidas has been integral to their cultural impact. This makes Gallagher’s defensive response particularly meaningful in the context of their long-standing partnership with the sportswear giant.
