Noel Gallagher Shares His Most Stressful Oasis Gig

Noel Gallagher recently sat down with Gibson TV and talked about how Oasis came to be, and how Noel moved to his High Flying Birds. He told the story of his most stressful gig, during his roadie times for Inspiral Carpets, and why it caused this much stress:

“I’m sat on a flight case on top of an amp, jamming with Oasis. And we’ve got gig on Tuesday, and it suddenly dawns on me that I’ve never played guitar standing up. Not only that, I don’t own a f*cking strap. This is Sunday night. And I’m skint. Never played guitar standing up. Now, that seems a f*cking preposterous f*cking notion now, but I can only tell you that the Monday was probably the most stressful f*cking day of my entire life.”

The guitarist shared his disbelief about the amount of stress it caused, described his clumsiness while wearing guitar strap for the first time:

“Whereas to borrow a strap. Borrow! ‘Can I borrow a guitar strap?’ ‘What?’ ‘For the Inspirals?’ ‘I better get it back.’ It’s a f*cking guitar strap. And then going home, putting the guitar on for the first time and spending, I’d say a good hour looking in the mirror ‘Where am I gonna f*cking -is it there or is it there?'”

Noel has been High Flying Birds’ frontman since 2009, when he officially split up with Oasis. Their latest album ‘Council Skies’ was released on June 2 and they’re currently on tour.
