Nita Strauss Takes Her Son to First Rock Show, Confirms He Was Moshing in the Womb became a heartwarming story when the guitarist’s husband shared details about their recent Nine Inch Nails concert experience on Instagram.

Josh Villalta described how their unborn son experienced his first rock show while still in the womb. The baby apparently responded enthusiastically to the music.

“Had a fun night out with Nita Strauss and finally got to see Nine Inch Nails….Production was next level and the setlist pulled from every era. Some good song choices! It was our little man’s first in the womb concert that neither of us were playing,” Villalta said. “He was kicking, so I’m pretty sure he was moshing already.”

Villalta also shared his personal connection to the band. He explained how meaningful this concert was for him after decades of missed opportunities.

“Funny tidbit – Nine Inch Nails has been one of my favorite bands forever since Pretty Hate Machine. Somehow I had never seen them live,” he continued. “Every single time they came through where I was living, I was always somewhere else and missed them. I left a day late to make sure I didn’t miss it.”

He revealed a particularly painful memory from 31 years ago that made this concert even more special.

“2/18/95….Downward Spiral tour….I had tickets, but my parents took them away because of bad grades. That was 31 years ago and I am still not over it… But, I think I can let it go now,” he said. “Happy to have seen them with Nita, made it worth the wait. If you are a NIN fan don’t miss this tour.”

This touching moment comes as Strauss continues to make waves in the guitar world. She is cementing her position as one of the most influential musicians of her generation.

WWE reported that Strauss recently graced the cover of Guitar World Magazine’s January issue. This highlights her continued prominence in the rock music scene. The guitarist serves as lead guitarist for Alice Cooper. She has performed at multiple WWE events and maintains a high-profile presence in both music and entertainment industries.

Her journey to guitar stardom has an interesting origin story. Paste Magazine noted that Strauss saw Steve Vai in the movie Crossroads and decided to become a rock and roll guitarist. This pivotal moment launched her career. She now tours all over the world with Alice Cooper’s band, bringing her technical prowess and stage presence to audiences globally.

The timing of this personal milestone coincides with significant recognition in the guitar community. Guitar World revealed that Ibanez recently unveiled new signature guitar models at NAMM 2026. This includes updated designs for several prominent artists. This development reflects the ongoing evolution of signature instruments and the continued partnership between major guitar manufacturers and influential players like Strauss.

The concert experience shared by Villalta not only marks a personal milestone for their growing family but also represents the intersection of professional musicianship and personal life. As Strauss continues to tour with Alice Cooper and maintain her solo career, moments like these demonstrate how music remains central to every aspect of her life. This extends even to her unborn child’s first musical experience.
