Alice Cooper guitarist Nita Strauss recently opened up about balancing her pregnancy with her touring career, sharing insights about how motherhood might influence her future plans. The guitarist addressed fan questions during a Q&A session on Instagram.
The discussion arose when a fan asked about the challenges of maintaining a touring schedule while pregnant.
When asked “How have you been balancing pregnancy with touring and traveling?”, Strauss provided a candid response about her experience.
“It’s been a wild ride! I toured through the entire first trimester so there was a lot to navigate between figuring out healthy meals that I could eat, hotel gym workouts, and eventually wardrobe accommodations,” Strauss said.
The guitarist also reflected on how her priorities may be shifting as she prepares for motherhood.
“I love touring but I also have been feeling very happy to be home and in more of a stable routine,” she continued.

Strauss’s comments suggest that pregnancy has given her a new perspective on the demanding lifestyle of a touring musician, potentially signaling changes to her future career approach.
This personal milestone comes at a significant point in Strauss’s career. She has established herself as one of rock’s most prominent female guitarists over the past decade.
Oreate AI reported that Strauss joined Alice Cooper’s touring band in June 2014, replacing Orianthi in the lead guitarist role. This position has been central to her career, allowing her to tour extensively with the legendary shock rock performer across multiple continents.
Beyond her work with Cooper, The Rock Revival noted that Strauss built a formidable solo career that cemented her as more than just a sideman. Her solo success reached a historic peak when she topped Billboard’s Mainstream Rock chart with “Dead Inside” in 2021, becoming the first female solo artist to achieve this milestone.
See Rock Live confirmed that Strauss and her husband Josh Villalta announced their “miracle” pregnancy with their son due in summer 2026. Villalta also serves as her manager. The couple has described this pregnancy as particularly meaningful, suggesting they may have faced challenges in their journey to parenthood.
The timing of this announcement coincides with Strauss’s continued prominence in the rock world. She recently graced the cover of Guitar World Magazine, further solidifying her status as one of the genre’s leading guitarists. Her career has also included notable collaborations beyond Alice Cooper, including a stint with pop star Demi Lovato’s band in 2022.
