Mötley Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx responded to fan questions during a Q&A. He addressed what happened between him and former singer John Corabi when Corabi left the band, as reported by Axis.

A fan asked Sixx, “What really happened between you and John Corabi?”

“When he left we all went back to working touring etc etc,” Sixx replied. “I know he still is out there singing his ass off. Nothing happened except Vince came back.”

The comment suggests there was no bad blood between the two musicians. Sixx’s response indicated that Corabi’s departure was simply due to original vocalist Vince Neil’s return to the band.

Sixx’s peaceful response reflects the relatively smooth transition that occurred during one of Mötley Crüe’s most significant lineup changes. The bassist’s acknowledgment of Corabi’s continued musical career demonstrates mutual respect between the former bandmates.

Wikipedia noted that Corabi joined Mötley Crüe in 1992 as Vince Neil’s replacement. He stayed with the band until Neil returned in 1997. This five-year period marked a distinct era in the band’s history. During this time, they released one studio album with Corabi as frontman.

The relationship between Corabi and the band appears to have remained positive throughout the years. Blabbermouth reported that Corabi has spoken fondly of his time with the group. He called it “beautiful,” “awesome,” and “a lot of fun.”

“I don’t regret anything,” Corabi said in the interview. This further emphasized the lack of animosity surrounding his departure from the band.

Despite the positive experience, Corabi has acknowledged the lasting impact of his Mötley Crüe tenure on his career. Metal Hammer revealed that he noted the role “put me on the map.” However, he also recognized it became a defining part of his musical identity that continues to follow him today.
