Nikki Sixx Recalls The Night He Was Overdosed As He Shares The Details Of His 20 Years Of Sobriety

Mötley Crüe co-founder and bassist Nikki Sixx posted the picture of the Twelve Steps app on his Instagram account to show the details of his almost-20 years of sobriety and also to inspire his fans who might be struggling with substance abuse.

As you might remember, Nikki Sixx struggled with substance abuse for many years. Nikki even had a near-death experience caused by a severe consumption of heroin back in the 1980s. However, after being a long time heroin addict, Sixx achieved to win his battle against addiction

The iconic musician has been participating in various projects to help people who have been struggling with alcohol or drug addiction just like he did. Nikki and his band Sixx: A.M collaborated with fellow rock musicians to record a song to support the fight against substance abuse.

Recently on Instagram, Sixx posted a picture of the Twelve Steps app he has been using to record his improvement in getting sober. In the caption of his post, Nikki mentioned that 19.59 years ago, he was face down in some vomit with a fist full of pills and cocaine. However, now, he is getting ready to celebrate the 20th anniversary of his sobriety on July 2, 2021.

Here is what Nikki Sixx wrote in the caption of his post:

“19.59 years ago tonight I was face down in some vomit with a fist full of pills and cocaine. This coming July 2 I’ll turn 20 years and I will be fly fishing on the Snake River looking up at god and again saying thanks for guiding me outta hell. #sobrietyrocks #itworks 🙏🏼 🎣 #Family #showgraditude Try it, you will like it.”

Additionally, Nikki Sixx also urged his fans who might be struggling with addiction to take a look at the app to get better just like he did.
