Nikki Sixx Reacts To Mark Hoppus’ Viral Video: ‘Bassists, Stop Looking So Bored On Stage’

Nikki Sixx recently laughed along with a Mark Hoppus sketch addressing a common issue among bassists on stage.

In a video from 2012, Hoppus starred in a College Humor sketch. The bassist played the role of a keynote speaker at the annual bassists’ convention. The meeting has the motto, ‘You don’t need more than 4.’ He humorously talked about the issue of bassists appearing uninterested during performances. Hoppus called for a change, saying:

“Bassists, we need to talk about the problem. We have to stop looking so bored on stage when we play.”

Sixx Shares A Laugh

Sixx found humor in Hoppus’s sketch. He shared a clip on his Instagram with several laughing emojis. In the rest of the video, the musician also uses examples to talk about how some bassists, like John Entwistle, don’t seem very excited on stage.

He jokes about Entwistle not realizing he’s part of The Who. He mentions how some bassists like Flea and Les Claypool are known for their lively performances. Hoppus suggests easy ways to make bassists look more engaged.

He jokes about bassists making mistakes, such as talking to the drummer during a concert or looking at their phones. He even playfully teases his own band, Blink-182.
