According to Billboard, Nickelback topped Linkin Park as the best rock band of the 21st century.

The band had the most played song on the radio in the 2000s with their hit ‘How You Remind Me,’ via Loudwire. They’ve also had Top 10 hits on the Hot 100 chart with songs like ‘Someday’ (Number 7), ‘Photograph’ (Number 2), ‘Far Away’ (Number 8), ‘Rockstar’ (Number 6), and ‘Gotta Be Somebody’ (Number 10). Billboard also shared the Top 200 Albums of the 21st Century, with 16 rock artists. Despite claims that rock is ‘dead,’ Billboard’s Top 100 Artists list shows it’s still going strong.

After Nickelback at Number 26, seven more rock bands made the list. Five artists who do pop, alternative, and rock also appeared in rock categories at award shows.

Linkin Park ranked Number 37, the second-best rock band of the 21st Century. They had Top 10 hits with ‘In the End’ (Number 2), ‘What I’ve Done’ (Number 7), and ‘New Divide’ (Number 6), plus hits on the Alternative and Mainstream Rock charts.

Avril Lavigne was the top female rocker at Number 47. She started with rock but later found success on the pop charts, returning to her rock style recently. Her hits include ‘Complicated’ (Number 2), ‘Sk8er Boi’ (Number 10), ‘I’m With You’ (Number 4), ‘My Happy Ending’ (Number 9), and ‘Girlfriend’ (Number 1).

3 Doors Down had three Top 10 hits on the Hot 100 with ‘Kryptonite,’ ‘When I’m Gone’ and ‘Here Without You.’ (No. 5). Kid Rock ranked Number 83 with a wide reach. His duet with Sheryl Crow on ‘Picture’ hit Number 4 on the Hot 100.

Daughtry took the Number 89 spot with Top 10 hits ‘It’s Not Over’ and ‘Home.’ Fall Out Boy claimed the last spot at Number 100. Their songs ‘Sugar, We’re Goin’ Down,’ ‘Dance, Dance,’ ‘This Ain’t a Scene, It’s an Arms Race,’ and ‘Centuries.’
