Cult rockers collaborating often brings joy to fans and critics, but when it’s for a special project to help and support a worthy cause, these team-ups often get even better. Pink Floyd icon Nick Mason recently shared the joy of collaborating with Ozzy Osbourne, Andy Taylor, and many other names for the Cancer Platform’s ‘This Christmas Time’ project on Twitter.
‘This Christmas Time’ aims to help and support charities and anyone battling cancer and to emphasize the spirit of Christmas through music. Mason collaborated with numerous names for this project in the legendary Abbey Road Studios, from Andy Taylor, who recently disclosed his battle with cancer, to Ozzy Osbourne and Noddy Holder. Recently, the drummer announced his participation in the project and shared his appreciation.
“Nick Mason, along with Ozzy Osbourne, Duran Duran’s Andy Taylor [who recently revealed his battle with cancer] and Noddy Holder,” stated the tweet, “lead a group of artists in ‘This Christmas Time’ a song to support a new online global project providing info to people living with cancer led by the Cancer Awareness Trust.”
The tweet also shared a personal message by the drummer. “Nick [said], ‘It’s an honor and delight to be asked to play on this record. I mean, what’s not to like? My favorite recording studio, the opportunity to work with great artists on a wonderful track and for the most worthy cause. Oh, and complimentary lunch in the Abbey Road canteen.’”
The track will be available on all streaming platforms on December 16. As these cult names got together to support this worthy cause, you will get a chance to enjoy their music and help those battling cancer through your support with streams and by bringing more publicity to the project.
