Nick Cave has addressed his past controversial comments about Red Hot Chili Peppers through a post on The Red Hand Files.

Cave’s previous statement was direct: “I’m forever near a stereo saying, ‘What the f*ck is this garbage?’ And the answer is always the Red Hot Chili Peppers.”

A fan inquired about the quote’s authenticity. Cave responded thoughtfully: “About twenty-five years ago, I made an offhand and somewhat uncharitable remark about the Red Hot Chili Peppers. There was no malice intended. It was just the sort of obnoxious thing I would say back then to piss people off. I was a troublemaker, a sh*t-stirrer, feeling most at ease in the role of a societal irritant.”

Cave shared Flea’s unexpected response to his comment. “On Facebook, Flea expressed how hurt he felt by my remark. He went on to say, in great detail, that he loved my music regardless. He wrote a profoundly generous and open-hearted love letter to Nick Cave.”

“I remember being genuinely moved by his words and thinking what a classy guy Flea was,” Cave added. “I felt on some subterranean level, which I was unable to fully grasp at that point in my life, that Flea was a human being of an entirely different calibre, indeed, of a higher order.”

The reconciliation between Cave and Flea has transformed into a creative partnership. This marks a significant shift from their past differences.

Stereogum reports that Cave has recorded vocals for Flea’s upcoming ‘trumpet record.’ This collaboration demonstrates their newfound artistic connection.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers have maintained their influential position in music. The Spectator highlights the band’s impressive achievement of over 100 million record sales worldwide.

Rock 103 observes that this partnership represents a new chapter for both artists. The collaboration transcends past criticisms and personal differences.
