New Trailer For Bon Jovi Doc Gives Insight To Richie Sambora Split: ‘I Don’t Regret Leaving’

Richie Sambora, the founding member of Bon Jovi, doesn’t regret leaving the band, as he says in the trailer of the new upcoming Bon Jovi documentary.

The docuseries is produced by ROS, under the direction of filmmaker Gotham Chopra. It commemorates the 40th anniversary of the band’s self-titled debut album, released on January 21, 1984. This milestone comes less than a year after the band was formed in their home state of New Jersey.

In the trailer, the band is seen to recollect some memories, along with the day Sambora left the band. He said:

“I don’t regret leaving, but I regret how I did it.”

As the members briefly touched on Sambora’s departure from the band, they continued to share how they wanted to keep at it — and all these years later:

“Nobody expected Richie to quit in the middle of the night, it was heartbreaking. It was taking a toll.”

Sambora continued:

“I went out of here, and what I meant was out of Bon Jovi.”
