Nevermore has announced their new lineup and revealed plans for their first performance in 15 years. Details were shared on Instagram.

The band disclosed that their comeback show will feature a completely revamped roster. The new lineup includes Jack Cattoi on guitar, Semir Özerkan on bass, and new vocalist Berzan Önen. Additionally, the group announced they have signed with Reigning Phoenix Music.

“The very first show with the new lineup will be at IF Performance Hall Beşiktaş in Istanbul on April 1st! Will we see you there? Get tickets before it sells out!” the band stated in their announcement.

Guitarist Jeff Loomis and drummer Van Williams provided further details about the band’s new direction and partnership.

“We are thrilled to announce that Nevermore has officially signed with Reigning Phoenix Music! It was obvious from the start that they were the perfect partner for the new era of Nevermore,” they said in a joint statement. “Their passion for metal music combined with the extensive industry pedigree of their team made the choice easy.”

The duo expressed their excitement about returning to live performance and future projects.

“We can’t wait to get back on stage in front of our fans in Istanbul on April 1st, and we are just as excited to finish writing and putting together the new Nevermore album!” they continued.

This announcement marks a significant return for the progressive metal band that has remained largely inactive for over a decade.

Encyclopaedia Metallum documented that Nevermore was formed in Seattle in 1991 as a groove/progressive metal act and has been inactive since 2011. The band built their reputation on exploring themes of politics, philosophy, human issues, and misanthropy throughout their career.

The group’s musical journey began with their official history documenting releases from their 1995 debut through iconic albums like Dead Heart in a Dead World and This Godless Endeavor. Nevermore consistently pushed boundaries in the progressive metal genre. Jeff Loomis, who has been a key member since the band’s early years, has also maintained his profile in the metal community through collaborations with other prominent acts.

During the band’s hiatus, metal publications continued to rank and analyze Nevermore’s seven-album discography. The catalog spans from their self-titled 1995 debut through later releases including “The Politics of Ecstacy” (1996) and “Dreaming Neon Black” (1999). The band’s catalog demonstrates their evolution from their initial groove metal foundations to more complex progressive arrangements.

The Istanbul show represents not only a geographical return for the band but also a symbolic restart after more than a decade away from active touring and recording. Their partnership with Reigning Phoenix Music suggests a commitment to both live performance and new studio material. This potentially marks the beginning of a new chapter for the Seattle-based metal veterans.
