Neil Young is clearing up the confusion about his upcoming performance at Glastonbury 2025.

On his personal blog, he confirmed that he will be playing at the festival. “Due to an error in the information received, I had decided to not play the Glastonbury festival, which I always have loved,” Young wrote this weekend. “Happily, the festival is now back on our itinerary and we look forward to playing! Hope to see you there!”

Young didn’t share details about the ‘error’ though.

Earlier this month, Young had announced he was backing out of the show because of requests from Glastonbury’s corporate partner, the BBC. He wrote that the BBC wanted him to do things during his set that he wasn’t comfortable with.

“The Chrome Hearts and I were looking forward to playing Glastonbury, one of my all time favorite outdoor gigs. We were told that BBC was now a partner in Glastonbury and wanted us to do a lot of things in a way we were not interested in. It seems Glastonbury is now under corporate control and is not the way I remember it being. Thanks for coming to see us the last time!”

Young said he won’t play at Glastonbury on this tour because it feels like it’s not the same as before. “We will not be playing Glastonbury on this tour because it is a corporate turn-off, and not for me like it used to be. Hope to see you at one of the other venues on the tour.”

He later added that the festival’s new corporate direction made him decide not to perform.

Glastonbury will take place from June 25-29 at Worthy Farm. As of Friday, the festival confirmed that Young will headline, along with Sir Rod Stewart.
